With the economic growth and development of Taiwan and its capital Taipei have come vast infrastructure challenges, not least of which is the ever-increasing demand for goods and services, which must be imported, requiring larger ports and in greater numbers.

Tourism  
One of the finest museums in the world lies just 20 minutes outside Taipei: The National Palace Museum. This building holds the best of Chinese art, most of which was carried to the island when the Nationalists fled the mainland in the late 1940s. The collection includes objects dating back more than 4,000 years.
